President Trump hosted a presidential rally in Milwaukee at the The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panther Arena on Tuesday, January 14th. His message centered around the security of our nation while defending the recent happenings in Iran. Trump addressed the nation’s troubles and his recent impeachment.

Tony Herro, a senior, was among the 12,000 people in attendance. “I got there at 3:30 and waited for an hour and a half to get in. Other people were just waiting outside for hours waiting to see it on TV.” The experience was pleasant for Herro (12). Herro (12) says: “It was more than I expected it to be. A ton of people were there and a lot of different speakers like Mike Pence, Ron Johnson, and other campaign managers.” Herro (12) described the issues discussed during  the rally, saying that Trump addressed the border crossing rate, poverty, and unemployment rate of his time in office. Herro (12) says, “people hyped up their policies and what they had to offer.”

President Trump’s rally also sparked several protests. Herro (12) says that: “There were three people that protested. They held signs before security came and kicked them out.” More  rotests continued after the rally ended. Herro says that “there were a group of people holding signs afterward and the police came to keep them out.”

For Herro (12), the rally was very positive. Herro says, “It was one of the greatest experiences in my life.”
