On October 14th 2023, Brookfield East High School hosted their annual homecoming dance for all the students and their invited guests.
This year’s Homecoming was planned by the Brookfield East student council. This year’s theme was Barbie, a tribute to the newly released Barbie Movie.
The week before homecoming, the Student Council decorated the hallways in a grade-level contest and initiated a fun spirit week. Sahil Gupta (12), a Student Council executive board member, says that, “the homecoming decorations were very nice, and the Jack-and-Jills were fun to organize.”
On the Friday October 13th before the big dance, there was a school-wide pep assembly. Notable Spartan alumni that attended the event include Lieutenant Governor, Sarah Rodriguez.
Despite the rainy weather, the Homecoming game was held the following night. The Homecoming King and Queen were announced. However, Brookfield East sadly lost 18-49 against Hamilton High School.
The morning of October 14th was filled with excitement as the decoration committee members of the Council made their way to school to complete the final decorations. The evening events consisted of singing, laughing, dancing and a whole lot of fun!
